![]() You will be fortunate to find a room here. Breakfast menu is out the day before and they will accommodate you if you desire something else. Where else can you go and have fresh flowers and chocolates and a frig full of beverages and afternoon wine or coffee and a different pastry every day? I loved meeting new guests and sharing the dining room table with everyone. Historic downtown with its arts districts and many restaurants are minutes away. Presentation and taste like a four star restaurant! Dan is very knowledgeable about the hikes and waterfalls and art community there and all his tips made our stay memorable from watching a demonstration on glass blowing to visiting waterfalls and moderate hikes with 360 views. Diane is a chemical engineer turned self taught chef and her 2-3 course breakfasts and afternoon pastries will want to make you extend your stay. Irene Lewis and Bob Stroudĭan and Diane are warm, welcoming, accommodating and feel like family by the time your stay is over. If I wanted to visit Asheville again, I would not hesitate to rebook. I could go on and on, but want to finish by saying again that it is the most perfect place for a luxury B&B stay. Plenty of fresh coffee available whenever you wanted. All with locally sourced products where possible. Each morning she’d prepared a two course meal - always a fresh fruit concoction, followed by a savoury plate of deliciousness! A Frittata or yummy French Toast coated with nuts, or her version of Eggs Benedict which was divine. Special mention must be made about Diane’s creativity with breakfast. The bathroom was enormous and beautifully appointed as well. The room we had was beautifully appointed - a huge king sized bed with lovely silk-feel bedding (made by Comphy), polished floors, antique furniture, with very comfortable seating. We were so grateful for their friendliness, kindness, and attention to detail of each guest’s needs. And yet, the service and surroundings they offer are so elegant and perfect, that in other people’s hands, pretension might well arise. There is not an ounce of pretension in either of them. The owners, Dan and Diane, have the best personalities and attitudes for this to succeed. This by far and away the very best bed-and-breakfast I have stayed in. Like other reviews that have been posted, Pine Crest has a great reputation but the quality of the education has continued to deteriorate over the last 10+ years. We stayed at the Pinecrest Inn from 18-20 July. The school has state of the art teachers, programs, extracurriculars, a beautiful campus and great safety features.
